The Latest Odlemotorsports News:
November 1, 2005 by Summer Mitchell
The guys finally arrived at Myrtle Beach Speedway where they were
confident about what position Joe was capable of placing. The team
was extremely optimistic about this race, and was hoping for a
second victory in the championship series.
After unloading the new car, it was quite obvious the chasis set up
from last year was not going to prove successful in this car. The
team struggled through practice and Joe felt he knew what he needed
to do in order to have a solid finish. Joe qualified 14th and raced
his way up to 3rd on the track. A late caution came out at Lap 200
and Joe brought the Speedco Ford to pit road and got his final set
of tires. Exiting the pits he was running in 7th and racing up to
5th, he discovered that the second set of tires weren't as good as
the first set.
After getting caught up with some lapped cars Joe got shuffled back
to 7th position which is were he finished. The team felt they had a
good enough car to possibly win so they were a little disappointed,
but satisfied with 7th. It moved Joe up to the 6th in the National
Points, The team looked forwarded to Motor Mile Speedway in Radford
Va on Nov. 5th.
